The Life of a Cat!

The life of a cat! That's how I felt this week! They start off lazy as can be and then sprint around like crazy until they end up passing out from exhaustion! The cycle then continues!

Monday was perhaps one of the laziest days of all. I was LOVING it, which isn't easy for me! I'm not a crazed fill every minute with some insane task type of girl. However, I do get antsy just sitting around, so this was a GREAT break through for me! After Ethan's 9:00 swim lesson, we came home, swam some more and than sat around for about 3 hours watching Little House on the Prairie episodes. Finally, the kids got to their chores and I started to pick up a little before Ben got home (I should have left it all so he could see what I normally do in a day! LOL) After dinner (Hawaiian Haystacks) I helped the kids print jokes for their puppet show. We finally got around to FHE around 8:00, which was on music and dancing. Then we watched Raiders of the Lost Ark. I tried to read some more of The Holy Secret, but could only get in a chapter. It a good book, just a lot to take in!

Tuesday we made up for things. By noon I had reorganized my pantry, and rearranged the boys bedroom. They were excited for the change, and I was just happy that I didn't break their computer, or their desk that is already falling apart! Aubrie was happy to help, too! She was a good helper the whole day. She made lunch for herself and the boys and she also made dinner-mini meatloaves a salad, peaches (from a can;), jello and bread- for her Faith in God award. After dinner, I took Boston's stitches out! That was fun! I also started the color system, again, for the kids. It sees to be working good. Their punishment for yellow is that I won't sing them the goodnight song or scratch their back at bedtime, and red get's them in bed early. They quickly did their chores without complaints!

Wednesday was busy! First I'm wondering if anyone else's kids sleep in when you have to get up early, and then wake up early every other day? Because that's how my morning started. I needed to be at Paradise Bakery, at 7:30, for a surprise birthday breakfast for Debbie. Of course, I don't set an alarm because I already have one, called Sophia. So I go to bed knowing she is going to wake me up in plenty of time for me to get ready before I go. The next thing I know, Ben is waking me up from my slumber saying, "Rach, it's 7:15!" So much for my alarm clock. Did she sleep in the next day? No! Anyway, I basically throw my clothes on from the day before, mouth washed, wiped the black smears from under my eyes (I never take my make up off before bed), and ran to get there on time. After breakfast, which was way fun, I run home to pull the kids out of bed (the life!) so we can make it to a 9:00 swim lesson. After the swim lesson, I finally squeeze in my shower, after I made sugar cookie dough for YW! I get ready just in time to pick up the sitter so I could join Erin, Leslie and Terri for a much needed, girls only, lunch! Lunch was fun and a much needed break. Thank heavens for good friends! I then rushed home to bake the cookies...which were driving me CRAZY! Sugar cookie STARS aren't the easiest! The little points on those suckers kept breaking off! At one point I was about to dump them in the trash! Then I had to take a break, so I could run the kids to piano and I got an hour of Walmart shopping in during. I was literally running through the store, because the Deli took F-O-R-E-V-E-R, again, so I wouldn't be late getting the kids. I then rushed home to finish the cookies and then it was off to YW! YW was fun, but it was so different. The new girls seem really cool, but it's weird having different leadership. The new leadership is great, but I'm not good with change! After YW, we had a meeting, and then I came home and watched 2 episodes of Raymond and called it a night!
Today
-swim lessons ( sorry no pictures! I was too busy talking to the Mom's! Honestly, even if I wasn't, Ethan swimming is like Ethan breathing, so I didn't even think about it!)
-finished cooking all the cookie batter (went much smoother this morning; I'll ice another day!)
-Kayleen cut Aubrie's hair (3 inches)
-Sophia walked across the family room (yeah I know she is 14 months)
-swimming with the kids and playing the "make me laugh" game (They laugh at my song; they get dunked. Today I sung Slippery Fish really silly!)
-dinner at Streets (the usual; pene Alfredo for the kids and I and the Philly for Ben)
-Walmart stop (lot's of "this and that" that added up quick; look forward to trying the green apple syrup for our snow cone machine. Our favorite summer treat! Thanks Nicole!)
-end of story! (time to pass out from exhaustion!)
Oh ya, today was great! Sophia took a 3 hour morning nap and a 2 hour afternoon. So much better than the 1 hours naps she has been pulling the past week! Ugh! God knew I needed the break from yesterday's craziness!
PS Hope you had a great recital Shea! WE love you!
