Piano for 4!

I can't believe its been 4 years of piano! This Christmas the kids played two songs each. Boston played, "Let It Snow" & "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree". He did a great job; always so focused!

Aubrie had two of my FAVORITE Christmas songs, "Angels We Have Heard On High" & "Carol of the Bells". She was a little nervous since she messed up at her last recital, but she did well!
Out of all the activities the children do, I would have to say that piano is the hardest....on me that is! I can't believe I have survived 4 years of piano lessons. A lot of time and patience is required! Luckily the complaints are minimal now, and their good at practicing before school. However, keeping them from being complacent is the problem. Doing the bare minimum is their motto I think! When they want my help, and when I make corrections they get all frustrated. Basically I'm their teacher 6 days a week. With all of that, I'm glad I've made them stick with it. It's great hearing them play primary song, Christmas songs, etc! They'll thank me later...at least that's the hope!! I don't care to have concert pianists. I just want my kids to be able to serve the Lord through piano. Hopefully, one day, when Boston is on his mission, he'll be able to play the piano at some little branch where no one knows how to play! I also want them to be able to play hymns in their own homes!
Ethan is starting to play sheet music now. He is learning through his music class. For the most part, he has no problems. I think the "round about" approach is working GREAT for him! I'm curious to see how he will do when he just has lessons! Honestly, I see him enjoying it the most out of all of them! When we got to the Recital, one of Ethan's Karate buddies was there to play. I think that might have helped things, too!:) Wonder if they talked about Karate moves, or music?!
