BYU Sports Camps/ July 4th

After the reunion, Ben drove home with Bryce, and I headed up North with the kids. Aubrie had gymnastics camp at BYU, and the boys had football camp.   Aubrie stayed in the dorms, but I had to drive the boys to their camps every day.  We stayed in one of Ben's friends Condo, in Park City.  It was really nice.   It had a pool table, and we spent a lot of time playing pool.   The first day of camp, the boys went earlier than Aubrie.  Aubrie's friend Chloe (who is at her gym and goes to our ward), went to the BYU camp too.  They were roommates.  They stayed with us in Park City the night before.   So she slept in while I took the boys.  They boys first practice was on the Football Field.  They thought that was awesome.  So did I!
When Aubrie showed up she did not look good.  She was feeling sick Sunday morning, and she looked even worse that day.  I literally checked her in the dorms, and than once we got in her room, I checked her out and took her to urgent care.  They gave me medicine for strep, even though she tested negative.  The last couple of times she tested negative on the rapid tests, and the lab tests came out positive.  I took her back to Park City with the boys, and she slept most of the day.  I took her back to BYU after I dropped the boys off at Football camp the following day.  She still didnt' feel that great.  The following morning, I brought her Ibprofin, and that took her headache and sore throat away, and she felt a lot better.  The rest of the week she had a great time.  She got her aerial and almost got her back walk over on the beam.  She had a great time in the dorms, and doing all the activities.
The boys also had a great time at football camp.  I had to get them there every morning by 9:30.   The drive from Park City was an hour.  So I just stuck around Provo, while they were at camp.   Monday we watched them a bit, and then we had the whole thing with Aubrie.  Tuesday, I dropped Aubrie back off and then drove around looking at my old stomping grounds, Wednesday I met up with Kari Headrick, one of my friends who moved back there a few years ago.   Thursday I went to the mall.   Finding things to do with the three kids after football was the challenge.  Dollar games at the Fat Catz bowling ally was the favorite pass time.  I also took them on the hike to Stewart Falls. That was a lot of fun but also very challenging.  We took the ski lift up and hiked down.  There were a lot of falls, and times when we had to run through huge brush with big scary bumble bees every where, but they were good memories.  Boston was brave enough to walk under the freezing waterfall.  It was good family time!

We also went to Bridal Veil Falls one day.  That is always a family favorite.  The kids went in their swim suits, and this time hiked up a quarter of the way from the very bottom.  Ben would't have gone for that if he was there.  That's why I planned on it!

Met up with Aubrie one day for lunch at the BYU Training Table!

Aubrie was done Friday at Noon, but the family was invited to a mini dance recital.  So we got there around 10:30 and watched her work out.  She got her kip, and we were there to see it.  She was excited about that!  After their dance, it became an open gym, and the kids went around having fun on the apparatus's.  After we checked her out, we took her to Fat Catz.  Saturday we all slept in and spent most of the day at the condo.  Then we hit the outlets, and scored big time on shoes for school.  We spent several hours shopping, and then went back home to relax, and play more pool, and eat dinner.

July
Sunday we went to church with the Elcocks and had dinner at their house.  The kids had so much fun playing hide and go seek game in the dark basement.  I had a fun time catching up with Julie and seeing her new house.   Her girls rooms got Aubrie in a decorating mood, which I will share the fruits of that later.  Monday we met up with Amber and went lunch at Brick Oven, and then went bowling (shocker!), and finished our afternoon at the BYU creamery.  The kids LOVED playind with Livvy.  Boston has this softer side for Babies!
Later that night Ben was coming in.  So before we picked him up we stopped at the new mall in Salt Lake.  I can't remember the name right now, but it's right by Temple Square.  This is the view from one of the walk ways.

Tuesday we spent at the Park City Resort all day, doing the Alpine Slide and all the other things there.   We had a great time!  It was the first time we had ever gone.  We got the day passes, and we had fun doing whatever we wanted.   Half way through the day, the sky went dark, and we realized there was a fire on the other side of the mountain.  (There were a lot of fires in Utah this year).  It got so intense that the smoke made the sun look RED, and ash was falling on us.  It was something to remember, for sure.  After a long day of riding rides, we ate at a yummy Mexican restaurant at the Park.  We were baked, and ready for home by the time we were done.

What a fire does to the sun!
The following day was the Fourth of July.  We left the condo, and checked into the Marriot by the Stadium.  We spent some time on Campus  and watched the Fireworks from our hotel, like we always do.  The following day we left for home.

Rocky Point Father's Day 2012

After the Disney Trip, we had a quick turn around to celebrate Father's Day at Rocky Point.  This has become our tradition (we love these kinds of traditions).  This year we got some good waves the first day. This time we stayed an extra night, and it still wasn't long enough.  The weather was PERFECT, and each time we go it becomes more enjoyable, as Sophia become more independent.     Aubrie and  Boston really enjoy jumping waves.  That's probably the highlight for them.  When the waters were calmer we enjoyed floating with our intertubes, and when the tides were low we enjoyed looking for sea life, and playing soccer and football the the sandbars.  Ben and I enjoyed massages on the beach, and we did the usual Thrifty nighttime runs!   Funny how we can get it here, but it's somehow not the same.  Just like In and Out always seems better in California.  This year we attended Church in Mexico for the first time.  It was great for the kids, and I to see the church run the same in another language, and be able to recognize the hymns even though they were in Spanish.  We couldn't undertand the talks, but Ben gave us a recap on the way home.  It was a great experience.  Later that night we had a nice Father's Day dinner, and opened gifts.  It was another successful Fathers Day, and great memories made!

A Disney Trip to Look Forward To

Every since we blindsided Sophia with Tower of Terror last year, she has not been to found of Disneyland.  Everytime I announced we were taking a trip Sophia would say, "I don't want to go to Disneyland!"  What 4 year old says that?!   Well now that she turned 5 her response was, "Now that I'm five I'm going to ride all the rides now!"  And she told everyone that when she told them about Disneyland.  She was even more excited when she found out at her Dr. Appt. that she was tall enough to ride the 42 inch rides, which included the Grizzly Rapids.

How does she know right where the camera is??
